Badri Beriwal is the Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer at Bata India, where he anchors the company’s long-term growth agenda across brand strategy, product innovation, digital acceleration, and consumer experience. With over two decades across FMCG and retail, he brings a mix of strategic clarity and execution depth that has shaped some of India’s most recognisable brands.
He began his career at Britannia, working across brand management and regional sales, where he helped revive slow-moving categories and strengthened market performance. From there, he moved to Bharti Walmart, building its private-label business from scratch and scaling it within the first year, a role that sharpened his understanding of modern trade and retail operations. At GSK Consumer Healthcare, he led some of the company’s most visible nutrition and wellness brands, driving brand re-architecting, digital initiatives, and successful new product launches at a time when the category was undergoing rapid transformation.
His next chapter at Veeba saw him build the marketing function ground-up, strengthen e-commerce distribution, and expand brand footprint in a competitive, fast-growth food space. Each role added a new muscle: brand building, digital strategy, category creation, GTM expansion, and team leadership across high-stakes environments.
At Bata, he now plays a central role in modernising a century-old brand for the next generation of Indian consumers, bringing together the discipline of FMCG, the agility of retail, and a sharp pulse on evolving customer expectations. Colleagues and former team members often describe him as a leader who brings clarity, mentorship, and a people-first approach. His ability to blend strategy with ground-level understanding has consistently set him apart, allowing him to navigate both growth and turnaround contexts with equal confidence.
Outside work, Badri is someone who values routine, reflection, and time with family. He keeps a structured start to his mornings, enjoys travel and experiences that broaden his perspective, and stays grounded in interests that balance the intensity of corporate life. What defines him most is a belief that leadership is not just about building businesses, it is about enabling people, creating opportunity, and leaving teams stronger than he found them.
